Facilities

The cross-country courses for both the Horse Trials and CDE competitions consist of permanent and portable fences, and hazards, developed by certified nationally recognized designers. The Grass Ridge courses offer cross-country challenges for competitors and provide exciting viewing for spectators.

GREF facilities

  • Two 20 x 40 meters dressage rings for riding and a 40 x 100-meters dressage ring for driving
  • Judges stand
  • Food service and vendor area
  • Two water obstacles on the cross-country courses  
  • Seven hazards on the CDE Marathon course, two of which are water
  • 20 permanent stalls

GREF is continually upgrading and improving the Horse Trials Cross-country and CDE Marathon courses. In 2007, a full-size CDE dressage arena and new combined hazard for the Horse Trials Cross-country and CDE Marathon courses was added by the Foundation. In 2008, GREF added a new Horse Trials dressage arena and a Pre-Competition Course (“Chicken Little Cross-country”, 6 obstacles, 2’ maximum height). In 2009, GREF has expanded four hazards in the CDE Marathon course.

ON-SITE show facilities

  • Temporary and permanent stabling (1 bag of shavings provided with stall rental)
  • Event office
  • Food service
  • Dry camping  (No hook-ups)

Off ground hook-ups and showers are available at the Santa Cruz County Fairground in Sonoita.

Schooling

Schooling days at Grass Ridge Farm are available September through June to GREF members. Please contact GREF about becoming a GREF member and for schooling rules, fees and reservations.
